The concept of Pharmacovigilance is defined as the science and activities related to the detection, assessment, understanding, and prevention of adverse effects and any other drug-related problems, which is crucial to ensuring that patients get safe medicines. Pharmacovigilance starts with clinical testing and continues through the drug's lifecycle. Over the past few years, pharmacovigilance has gained increasing importance for better clinical practice and public health science. Pharmacovigilance involves active surveillance, passive surveillance, stimulated reporting, targeted clinical investigation, comparative observational studies, and descriptive studies. The new developments in pharmacovigilance are essential in order to keep up with demands and maintain patient health. ADRs are mainly managed using the software. The most commonly used software is Oracle Argus Safety, ArisG, Oracle adverse event reporting, PvNET, and repClinical.
