Every urban region in India suffers from traffic congestion and overcrowding. Although public transportation is widely available in India, it is insufficient for the country's population. The congestion is the result of poor transportation system planning, design, and operational strategies. These problems are faced in most of the cities in India. Similarly, Chandrapur city in Maharashtra also faces the same problems. Traffic management is an important factor for the transit network of the city. Unfortunately, Chandrapur being a fortified city, its core area faces the problems of traffic congestion, parking problems, and many other problems related to transportation. This paper addresses the problems faced by the residents of Chandrapur city and the proposed solutions to minimize them. Suggestions and proposals for improving the roads are made, beginning with small but significant efforts.
