This article deals with the need for the spiritual discipline of silence and solitude in the, “I am busy” lifestyle of Christians. This article is addressed to the full-time ministers in the church, in para-church organizations and to every believer who desires to grow spiritually to hear God’s voice. Jesus’ life was characterized by bouts of silence and solitude. Jesus drew strength from his solitary mission that is evident in the miracles that follow after his time with the Father. solitude is primarily to focus on God; to hear Him, to be renewed and to be a blessing to the community. One cannot give what one does not have. A study of the practical steps of the discipline of silence and solitude will further help see more advantages as one incorporates them in their life.
