Title

A STUDY ON FACTORS AFFECTING CONSUMER PREFERENCE TOWARDS ORGANIC FOOD PRODUCTS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO COIMBATORE CITY

Abstract

This study is based on factors affecting organic food consumption in coimbatore city. Organic food is grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, such as human-made pesticides and fertilizers, and does not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Organic foods include fresh produce, meats, and dairy products as well as processed foods such as crackers, drinks, and frozen meals. Organic products are classified as the healthiest type of product that any human being can consume and prefer for nutritional value and have a natural taste compared to conventional food products. “In terms of food that comes from living animals- meat, eggs and dairy products, the animal must not be fed antibiotics or growth hormones” – Organic Foods Production Act, 1990.
