Deep learning is one of the current research’s key areas of artificial intelligence. This paper surveys and encapsulates the current advancements and future research areas in deep learning. This paper establishes the basic structure of deep learning models, areas or applications of deep learning, and the solutions to the deep learning challenges. Firstly, three primary models of deep learning are figured including feed-forward neural networks, convolutional neural networks, and recurrent neural networks. This paper then encapsulates artificial intelligence-based deep learning applications including computer vision, medical image analysis, natural language processing, agriculture, self-driving car, and many other applications. Finally, this paper examines the existing challenges of deep learning and its state-of-art solutions.
