Spatial organisation of massing guides in shaping cities and towns, any town is an result of complex correlation between organisation and sequential journey formed due to religious or functional results observed within. One of the primary path found in temple towns is starting from entrance of urban town while moving towards temple. This research paper intends to examine about various sequential paths observed in layouts of temple towns. Further focusing on detailed understanding of elements of city planning along with components of movement in South Indian Temple towns. Southern Region of India is famous for its cultural and religious beliefs. Over the years under influence of particular dynasties there has been an peculiar development of urban places having temple as centre. There is an higher role of paths in refining complexity of layouts, this paper addresses spatial dynamics and role of sequential movement in temple towns.
