Title

A Kinetic Study of Alkaline hydrolysis of Dimethylsuccinate in Ethyleneglycol System

Abstract

An attempt has been made to study the kinetic of alkaline hydrolysis of dimethylsuccinate in mixed solvent system evaluating rate constant. The study has been made in varying compositions of aquo-ethyleneglycol system having composition (10-60% V/V) at temperature range 20°-50°C Various thermodynamic activation parameters such as iso-composition activation energy, iso-dielectric activation energy , molar polarisation energy, size of the transition state are also evaluated to understand the mechanism of solvent effect.
