Abstract
Generation of earnings alone is not important. The way in which the earnings are distributed also matters. Earning’s distribution polices will have an impact on shareholder’s wealth. The present study enables one to have a close look at how the Indian cement companies go about in deciding the distribution of earnings. It will also enable corporate financial managers to identify the pattern of distribution to maximize the shareholders wealth. Industries in the corporate sector will also stand to gain by this study. They can understand the income distribution policies and their impact on market price of shares.
