Title

PLZST AFE Ceramics for energy storage: A Review

Abstract

Ceramic capacitors have astonishing capability for storing energy and are used widely for various energy storage purposes. This is because of their properties of high charge density, fast charging – discharging rate and their property to function over wide range of temperature. Among dielectrics, it is preferred to use antiferroelectrics (AFEs) in applications involving enhanced storage of energy in order to satisfy growing need because they possess low dielectric loss, low remnant polarization, low coercive field, fast rate of discharging and high energy density. Lead Lanthanum Zirconate Stannate Titanate (PLZST) are the antiferroelectric ceramics which are used for this purpose because they perform better for storage of energy. This review paper presents the summary of energy storage behaviour of PLZST antiferroelectric ceramics.
