Title

Design Development & Evaluation of Herbal Transdermal Patch

Abstract

In present study, this investigation was performed to form a transdermal patch containing Corn silk to avoid its extensive hepatic first pass metabolism, lesser side effect and increase bioavailability of drug. The purpose of this work was to develop and evaluate matrix type transdermal patches of natural drugs employing different ratios of hydrophilic polymers by used of designs to formulation of transdermal films. It is attractive to make up a suitable pharmaceutical formulation in shortest time using calculate sufficient amount of excipients. The work done identifies extractive value of corn silk deal with water and ethanol. Alcoholic extractive value of corn silk plant material estimate phytochemical screening for extensive pharmacological properties from following test Protein (Millon’s reagent, Shinoda Test), Flavonoid(Shinoda Test, Dilute Ammonia Solution test), Terpenoid (Salkowski), Alkaloids (Mayer’s Reagent Test, Dragendorff’s Test), Tannin (Hager’s Test Ferric Chloride), Saponin (Dist. Water, Ferric chloride, Con. Sphuric acid, Foam Test), Carbohydrates (Molish’s Test, Fehling’s Test, Benedict’s test), Glycosides (Killer Killani Test, Borntrager’s Test). Formulate the corn silk transdermal patch as usual use lab technologies, Formulations has code with scientific lab code F1- F4. All the fabricated films were evaluated for their physical parameters (Percent moisture content, thickness, folding endurance, Drug Content etc.).

Key Words
