VRIKSHAYURVEDA: ANCIENT SCIENCE OF LIFE FOR TREES
Abstract
The popularity of herbal products has been increased all over the world. Unfortunately, the increase in the demand has led to threat of depletion, as many of these plants are collected from the wild.Vrikshayurveda which means ‘the science of plant life was well developed prior to 6th century in ancient India. In today’s scenario the importance of understanding Vrikshayurveda has also increased because of harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, has led the entire world to look towards ancient cultivation & conservation methods of medicinal plants. A detailed study of Vrikshayurveda would provide us with information on various aspects of plant life.
