A lot of patients visit doctors because they are in pain. The word ruja, which means illness, is another name for it. All painful conditions within the body are caused by vata. One of the Vata vyadh is brought on by aggravating Vatadoshas is Gridhrasi (Sciatica). The term alone refers to the patient's walk, which resembles that of a Gridhrasi when they are in excruciating pain (Vulture). When a patient has Gridhrasi, they have severe shooting pain that extends from the sphik pradesha to the kati, prusta, uru, janu, and pada and prevents them from being able to walk normally. Due to the constant and stretching pain, it interferes with patients' everyday activities and quality of life in general. There are 80 different nanatmaja illnesses, and this is one of them. Starting in the back, the discomfort may move down to one or both lower limbs. Gridhasi can be compared to the condition sciatica in modern medicine based on its symptoms. Only symptomatic therapy with analgesics like NSAIDs and a relatively small number of surgical techniques are available in contemporary medicine. The surgical procedures are costly and have a lot of restrictions. Treatments for Gridhrasi in Ayurveda include Bheshaja, Snehana, Swedana, Siravedha, Agnikarma, and basti. Agnikarma is one of these para-surgical techniques that is very efficient, easy to perform, safe, affordable, and has a rapid response.
