The paper provides insights on management aspect of megaprojects and the complexity surrounding it. The world is currently witnessing incredible megaprojects that are leaving a symbolic mark on our globe and altering it in ways that have never been seen before and affecting every individual lives. Megaprojects are a special category of very large, complicated, emblematic, and expensive projects. Megaprojects may be both a boon or a burden; when they're completed successfully, their creators enjoy the rewards of fame and fortune, but when they fail or get abandoned, entire businesses and their reputations are often destroyed. Megaprojects has been the focus of debate and study for the past few decades, but there is little in the way of written material on the management aspect to deal with the complexities it brings along. The paper gives with the insights of megaprojects and emerging field of megaproject management; the current problem plaguing the field of megaproject management and how the industry is thriving to improvise the practices and arrive at a long lasting and robust solution. The paper also presents the complexity and challenges involved in executing a megaproject, and how it creates opportunities as well as sinkholes without a way of it. The paper also answers on why megaprojects are still preferred despite the low success rate and concludes on the advancements that adds positivity to the megaproject practitioners and institutionalists. The article argues that megaproject management needs to be refurbished and conventional procedures, practices and strategies needs a major overhaul. A few of notable recommendation and good practices are listed. This work contributes towards the field of megaprojects and the management aspect of these giants for practitioners and institutionalists to get better insights and focus.
