Liposomes are most widely used in the pharmaceutical industry and are very useful in various drug delivery systems used to target a drug to a specific tissue. Due to the structural similarity between the lipid bilayer (two layers) and the cell membrane, the liposome can easily penetrate and effectively deliver the drug in a way that the free drug would not easily penetrate. Liposomes can also be encapsulated in hydrophilic and hydrophobic materials and are used as drug carriers in drug delivery. This technology is very useful for treating certain diseases. Now, the greatest attraction and interest of researchers in this technology, i.e. liposomes, will increase. The main subject of this review is this technology i.e. Liposomes are very useful in certain diseases and are easy to prepare and also provide various benefits other than. Liposomes are highly biocompatible, with applications ranging from delivery of enzymes, antibacterial and antiviral drugs, antiparasitic drugs, transdermal transporters, fungicides, diagnostic tools and vaccine adjuvants. This article focuses mainly on the purely scalable techniques and strength, respectively, limitations regarding industrial applicability and regulatory requirements regarding liposomal drug formulations based on FDA and EMEA documents.
