Title

ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STRUCTURED TEACHING PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE REGARDING ROAD SAFETY MEASURES AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SELECTED SCHOOL IN MORADABAD

Abstract

The research study title “A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding road safety measures among the ninth and tenth standard students of the selected school of Moradabad was done by Ms Khushbu at Graphic Era University College of Nursing, Bhimtal . The objectives of the study were to determine the effectiveness of structured teaching programme among high school students regarding road safety measures and to find the association between knowledge score and selected demographic variables class, age, gender, education of father, education of mother, incidence of accident made by the respondent, incidence of accident made by the family member of the respondent and class attended regarding road safety measures before. Conceptual framework used for this study is based on modified general system theory (Von Bertalanfy). A pre- experimental design one group pre-test post-test was used in this study and non-probability convenient sampling technique was adopted. The following tools were developed to determine the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding road safety measures among high school students and to find the association between pre-test level of knowledge regarding road safety measures among ninth and tenth standard. All the tools were validated by five experts and modification was done according to their suggestion. Pilot study was done among 6 samples, all belongs to school of Krishna Baal Vidhya Mandir Inter College Mangupura and study was found feasible. Main study conducted among 60 samples from selected school Wilsonia School Moradabad. The researchers visited to the Wilsonia English Medium School, inform consent taken from the participant. The researcher collected the data by administering questionnaire to the subject. The obtained data was analysed based on the objectives and hypothesis by using descriptive and inferential and hypothesis was tested at level of significances. Majority of respondents 33 (55%) are from tenth class. Majority of the respondents 40 (66.7%) are female. The overall pre-test mean knowledge score was 1.05 followed by post test score of 2.92 with mean enhancement of knowledge score of 1.87 which is statistically significant as observed between pre and post test score.
