Title

FAULT DETECTION IN TRANSMISSION SYSTEM BASED ON AI-APPROACH

Abstract

The fault detection and identifying the location promotes the reliability of the power system network. Detection of fault and faulted phase selection is performed using Wavelet Energy Entropy (WEE) of three phase currents as well as ground by observing the magnitude of modulus of Wavelet Maxima (WMM) of ground mode component of the modal transformation matrix and WMM of aerial mode component is used for identification of faulted phase and the accurate fault point location for different types of fault. The location of fault was determined using the Clarke Transformation, then transformed in to Wavelet Transform (WT) from which wave travelling time and fault points are identified to calculate distance of fault occurrence very accurate and thorough. Further to detect faults faster an attempt is made by different Artificial Neural Network (ANN).
