Coronavirus disease commonly known as Covid 19 which started from the Wuhan city of China in December 2019 . Soon , this disease was declared as Pandemic by WHO for all over the world when it affected millions of people . India is the second most populated country in the world after China and this pandemic has affected India too in terms of loss of lives and in economic terms when many of the industries have to shut down their operation in India in covid 19 times . India is the 4th largest manufacturer of automobiles in the world . Automobile sector is the key pillar for any economy and all other sectors depend directly or indirectly on automobiles only . This research paper is divided into some parts and this highlights the impact of Covid 19 pandemic on the Indian Automobile sector . This paper highlights sector wise GDP contribution , Characteristics of automobile industry , Comparison of motor vehicle production in India and some selected countries in pre covid and in Covid . This paper also highlights how the automobile sales in India got affected in Covid 19 and favourable reasons for it.
