Title

A Hybrid of Modified DE Algorithm with FISPID MPPT Technique for Solar System

Abstract

Within the framework of electric car manufacture and use, there has been a larger level of progress throughout time. The growth of solar-powered electric vehicles is characterized by zero emissions, great efficiency, and minimal maintenance as humanity gradually contributes to global warming. However, solar irradiance is not constant and keeps on changing which makes it necessary to extract Maximum Power Point (MPP) from solar panels for charging the EV batteries effectively. Therefore, an effective and efficient MPPT approach is proposed in this thesis that is based on Fuzzy inference System (FIS), PID controller and Modified Differential Evolutional (MDE) algorithm. The main objective of the proposed MDE-FISPIS based MPPT technique is to provide necessary supply to loads so that high energy demands are satisfied. To achieve this objective, we have designed a MPPT based system in which various components like solar panels, MPPT approach, DC-DC technique and other components are integrated. In order to extract the MPP from solar panels, we have combined FIS along with PID controller. However, the parameters of the fuzzy system can lead to system complexity, therefore, it is necessary to optimize the parameters of fuzzy system. For optimizing the fuzzy parameters, we have used Modified Differential Evolution (MDE) algorithm that is modified with Levy Flight technique in the proposed work. Moreover, DC-DC boost converter is used to regulate the power supply which is then supplied to loads for meeting their demands. Finally, the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed MDE-FISPID approach is examined and compared with traditional ACO model in MATLAB software. The simulating outcomes were obtained and validated in terms of voltage, current and power supplies.
