Title

The Execution and the Jail Journey of Bhagat Singh

Abstract

The Execution and the Jail Journey of Bhagat Singh Bhagat Singh and his activities constituted the most significant phase in the freedom movement of the country. Bhagat Singh belongs to the front rank of Punjab heroes martyred in the cause of national freedom movement. Kartar Singh Sarabha’s supreme sacrifice and preceding of the Lahore conspiracy case left a deep impact on his sensitive mind. Bhagat Singh played a vital role in creating the atmosphere of communal harmony in the country and strengthening the revolutionary activities .They planned and executed the murder of Polur A.S.P Sainunders in Lahore on December 17, 1928.In order to retaliate the death Lala Lajpat Rai and to redeem the loss of national honors caused by intelligent behavior of the Polur. They justified their actions in throwing bombs in the Assembly House Delhi on April 8, 1929 on the ground that the assembly had no purposeful utility for Indian masses, and its proceeding was just a humiliating face and also that they were protesting against the repressive measured and laws of the Government such as the Public safety Act and Trade Disputes Bill. They had no intention of running away after throwing the bombs in the Assembly nor did they cherish any intention of murdering anybody in the Assembly Hall by their action. Bhagat Singh and B.K Dutt put their ideology of the revolution in their joint statement in the court during the course their trial assembly Bomb. The Lahore Conspiracy Case started on 10th July 1929 with the trial of Sunder’s murder and other offences Committed by Bhagat Singh and B.K Dutt. It opened in the special Magistrate’s Court situated in the Lahore Central Jail and completed with the judgment which is given by tribunal on 7 Oct 1930. This historic trail is known as the second Lahore conspiracy case in India’s struggle for freedom. When the sentence was passed Bhagat Singh was not present in the court. So the public lawyer came to the jail barracks with superintendent to announce the punishment. He said, “Sardar Bhagat Singh unfortunately court has sentenced you for death.”
