Small tea growers (STGs) in North Bengal play a significant role in promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development. Their contributions include environmental stewardship, economic empowerment, and social equity. This study examines the role of STGs in the Kharibari region, highlighting their impact on soil health, biodiversity conservation, employment generation, and income enhancement. Despite challenges such as climate change, economic constraints, and limited access to technology, opportunities exist through organic farming, policy support, and market linkages. A case study of Kharibari showcases a successful transition to organic tea farming, offering insights for broader adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
