Title

Integrating ICT in Teaching and Learning: Theoretical Perspective

Abstract

This study is a conceptualisation approach to investigate approaching ICT integration in teaching and learning from the theoretical perspective. From his experience as a teacher and study of scientific approaches to ICT integration, the researcher assessed how practically ICT integration could be approached from the perspective of some educational theories. ICT integration theories have also been looked into as a base for the study’s objective. From the study, the following should be noted in the bid to enhance the use of ICT in the teaching and learning process: ICT tools cannot replace the teacher in the classroom; teachers should be trained to be able to integrate ICT effectively; teachers should be motivated to incorporate ICT; ICT serves as a source of support to learners for easy comprehension of concepts; ICT helps the repetition of facts which helps in the easy storage of information.
