Title

Prevention and Control of fires in underground mines.

Abstract

In every mine all over the globe fires accidents are caused, and the average percentage of accidents caused due to fires and Explosives is about 56%. Even though there are fire safety devices in mining equipment, still fire accidents are recorded this may be because of human error or technology failure and if this kind of incident are occurred in underground mines, it is very difficult to know on the surface office. Using this technology, the fire can be put off, and also the same will be intimated to the surface through a buzzer sound and LED display showing the location of the fire. The Flame Sensor Module can detect flames in the 760 - 1100 nanometer wavelength range. The detection angle is roughly 60 degrees, and the sensor is particularly sensitive to the flame spectrum. Arduino UNO scans all three flame sensors at the rate of 16 million times in a second each one by one, whenever any of the three flame sensors detects flame the Arduino Uno immediately sends signals to the corresponding driver circuit to activate. The driver circuit is connected to a solenoid valve which on activation gets open and lets the water spray onto the fire and the same will be intimated to the surface by LED display and Buzzer.
