Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is most common Endocrine disorder affecting 5-10% of women of reproductive age. PCOS is associated with number of metabolic disturbances in the body including life style disorders like Obesity, Early DM, Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, Cardiac disease, Subfertility and Endometrial Cancer etc. It’s multifactorial disease with complex pathophysiology. In order to fulfill the increased demand of chickens, Broiler Chickens have been found to feed on diet containing synthetic steroids, antibiotics, minerals, arsenic and injected with Bovine Growth Hormone which increases insulin like growth factor in human on ingestion. Ovary respond to excess insulin by excess production of androgen which is involved in pathophysiology of PCOS. The Endocrine disruptors are compared to Gara Visha as Gara Visha is the substance prepared artificially by combining either poison/non-poisonous substances which are slowly metabolized in the body which shows gradual changes and do not cause death immediately as like cumulative toxicity. Conclusion includes physical signs and symptoms of Gara Visha and PCOS causes major metabolic and endocrine disorders.
