3D printing of drugs is a form of additive manufacturing which allows them to manufacture in various geometric shapes and designs by depositing materials in layers. This article provides information on the applications of 3D printing in the creation of pharmaceutical dosage forms as well as the evolution of 3D printing since the 1990s. The use of 3D printing for drug delivery has numerous benefits. It is one of the simpler methods available and has a wide range of uses in the pharmaceutical industry. It is useful for both the types of drugs used and a variety of drug delivery systems. Three-dimensional printing uses a variety of processes that can be applied to various dosage forms.
