The principles of Ayurveda, a straightforward, practical science of living, can be used by anybody to live a healthy, fulfilling life. Ayurveda discusses many aspects of human existence and offers advice that has been tried, tested, and improved over many years to anyone who wishes for more harmony, calm, and longevity. Gridhrasi is a part of Vataja and Nanatmaja Vyadhi, and Acharya Charaka also regarded it as a Mahagada. Nidana is not specifically mentioned in any Ayurvedic literature, although it is included in Vataja Nanatmaja Vyadhi, along with generic Vata Prakopaka Hetus, which should be taken into account. The modern human's changing way of life has led to various biological disharmonies. As a result of the expansion of a busy, professional, and social life, poor sitting posture in workplaces and factories, continuous and excessive exercise, jerky movements when travelling and playing sports, and other causes, low back pain and sciatica are all significantly influenced. In this review essay, we explored Gridhrasi (sciatica) from an Ayurveda and modern perspective.
