In Asia and the Pacific, Syzygium samarangense, a member of the Myrtaceae family, is widely cultivated. Syzygium samarangense is a potential medicinal plant and effective for various health issues such as to improve digestion, protect against diabetes, lower cholesterol, and prevent certain types of cancer. Currently, in vitro and in vivo experiments with the plant extract have demonstrated various pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-HIV, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycemic, antidiabetic, thrombolytic, spasmolytic, cytotoxic, hepatoprotective, anticancer, anthelmintic, anxiolytic, protease inhibitory, and immunomodulatory effects. Phytochemical constituents are non-nutritive plant chemicals that have preventive and curative properties for disease. The use of plants and phytochemicals, both with known biological properties, can have great significance in therapeutic treatment. The objectives of the study is to evaluate the phytochemical screening ,antioxidant and antibacterial activities of methanol leaves extract of Syzygium samarangense .
