The study has focused on portraying the Process of Urbanization (A Special Refrence to Ranchi Municipal Corporation) from 1965 to till now. To conduct the present research, secondary data and personal observation have been used. A total of 400 households sample verification points has been taken to assess the accuracy of population and urbanization in both cases. The verification points have been selected by purposive random sampling method. Results reveal currently Ranchi is in acceleration stage of urbanization, the consistent increase in built-up area in an unplanned manner and increase in population, hence population started to migrate from rural areas to Ranchi City for better prospects. So, there is a sudden change in population density, and the area of the city expanding day by day.
