Title

Use of Forensic Astrology in Crime Fiction: A study of the works of Manjiri Prabhu

Abstract

This paper tries to introduce a fresh perspective on crime detection, using forensic science, the investigation progresses. Experts in forensic astrology turn to the stars for clues about past crimes. As suspect and witnesses testimonies which might differ greatly from person to person are taken into account, criminology becomes a softer science. Forensic astrology can perform a crucial civic and legal duty by helping to connect the dots between the crime and the perpetrator in the process of determining whodunit from the evidence to the indictment, where law enforcement struggles to do so effectively and identify the criminal beyond a reasonable doubt. Various forensic investigative techniques exist, including Cyber Forensics, Forensic Archaeology, Forensic Dentistry, and Forensic Astrology. In the books The Cosmic Clues and The Stellar Signs the detective solves murders by observing the stars and horoscopes. The two books by Manjiri Prabhu, The Stellar Signs and The Cosmic Clues are the main focuses of the paper. These books use astrology and research to solve crimes in a unique and unconventional way.
