Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is a cluster of interconnected risk factors, including obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, and inflammation, which significantly increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The rising global prevalence of MetS poses a major challenge to public health, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of its underlying causes, prevention, and management strategies. This review article aims to elucidate the complex interplay of genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors contributing to MetS and provide evidence-based recommendations for its prevention and management. We discuss the role of physical inactivity in exacerbating MetS risk factors and emphasize the importance of regular physical activity in preventing or mitigating these risks. Furthermore, we examine the crucial role of monitoring and follow-up in MetS management, highlighting the need for effective communication and collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals. The review concludes with recommendations for future research to address the gaps in our understanding of MetS and develop innovative strategies for its prevention and control.
