Title

Battery monitoring and load management system for electric vehicles

Abstract

– The Electric Vehicle is preferred mainly because it is less expensive and environmentally friendly. But it comes with battery overcharge and deep discharge. This problem affects battery life and performance over the years. To overcome this problem, the proposed system gives the simulation and prototype for Battery Management System (BMS) for Electric Vehicles (EV), in which different battery parameters such as voltage, current and the temperature , charging and power of the battery is monitored, which can help us to avoid overcharging and deep discharge of the battery. Observations are done with the help of several sensors. The measured battery parameters voltage, current and temperature data is sent to the Arduino Uno and data is transferred through wifi-module to the android application. Battery monitoring data is displayed on the Android smartphones with the help of wifi-module. The monitoring system can display current, voltage and temperature, and power and also shows the real-time data on Android smartphones. This helps us to increase the performance and the life of the battery.
