Title

GREEN SYNTHESIS AND CREAM FORMULATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES OBTAINED FROM MARINE ACTINOMYCETES

Abstract

In contrast to plant-based techniques, microbial synthesis has several advantages, which is why there is a lot of research being done to find, define, and utilise novel species. We examine the creation, properties, and uses of silver nanoparticles produced by actinomycetes in this research.Actinomycetes are gram-positive, non-motile bacteria found in soil and water that morphologically resemble fungus. The actinomycetes from sea water samples were successfully isolated for this investigation, and they were then subjected to the reduction of silver nanoparticles and given a UV spectrophotometric characterisation. Utilising starch casein agar, actinomycetes were isolated for the current investigation.By adding 1mM silver nitrate to the culture supernatant, Actinomycetes sp. was able to biosynthesize silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), which were then detected by a change in colour following incubation and identified using UV-Visible spectrophotometer. The diffusion technique using agar wells was applied to assess the antibacterial characteristics of the cream formulation as well as the nanoparticles that were utilised in it. The safety of preservatives, found to be essential to the majority of cosmetic preparations, is a subject of ongoing concern. Silver (Ag) has several limitations as a preservative, such as its interference with salts, while being widely known for its antibacterial activities. In this study, we looked at how recently synthesised actinomycete-derived Ag nanoparticles affected skin infection-causing microbes. The study comes upon the finalisation that because of the quick, environmentally friendly synthesis procedure, biologically synthesised nanoparticles may find use in the cosmetics industry.
