Title

Underwater Image Enhancement With Fusion Based Method

Abstract

The fusion-based image restoration system was presented in order to improve underwater images that suffer from non-uniform lighting, low contrast, blurriness, and vilified color. The proposed methodology is based on a fusion-based principle that focuses on input images, weight & weight map, and white balance measurement from a degraded or noisy underwater image. The method practically aims to produce an image that overcomes the shortcomings of the initial image or noised image that lacks clear visibility by employing several weight maps, namely Luminance, Contrast, Chromatic, and Saliency weight maps. The underwater image obtained using fusion techniques offers qualities such as reduced noise levels and better exposed dark regions, as well as improved global contrast and finer details & edges. By implementing an operative edge conserving noise lessening method, the suggested fusion framework additionally allows temporal coherence between neighboring frames. Image fusion is the procedure of assimilating two or more photos to create a single, more information image. To improve image quality, the resulting image is reassembled into a single image. Images have been enhanced utilizing weight map techniques, and images have been restored using fusion based approaches for better looking for onlookers. Overall, the proposed strategy improved the quality of underwater photographs with a high noised ratio and more color disruption in the initial input images
