ENDODONTIC MANAGEMENT OF THE MANDIBULAR FIRST MOLAR WITH SIX ROOT CANALS: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
This clinical case demonstrates anatomical variations in the mesial and distal roots of two mandibular first molars in this study, discussing some endodontic considerations. This clinical case describes conventional root canal treatment of an unusual mandibular first molar with six root canals. These anatomical variations were discovered during routine endodontic treatment and had three canals in the mesial and distal roots. In this case, the mesial and distal canals have independent orifices in the pulp chamber floor but join immediately, forming two canals. The prognosis for endodontic treatment in teeth with abnormal morphology is unfavorable if the clinician fails to recognize extra root canals.
