The platforms have disrupted traditional industries and created new opportunities for entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers. However, with their rise comes a range of legal, ethical, and social challenges that require new forms of governance. This dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the governance of technology platform businesses from a multidisciplinary perspective. It will review the literature on platform governance, analyze case studies of platform businesses in different industries and regions, and present recommendations for effective governance mechanisms. The purpose of this dissertation is to contribute to the development of a more equitable, responsible, and sustainable digital economy. The rapid growth and transformation of platform businesses require new forms of governance that can balance the interests of different stakeholders and adapt to changing circumstances. Through this dissertation, we hope to provide insights and recommendations for effective platform governance that can benefit policymakers, platform operators, and civil society organizations.
