Title

IMPACT OF ONLINE CLASSES ON ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN WEST BENGAL

Abstract

The Covid-19 Pandemic brought an unprecedented change in the way a normal society functions. Society was affected both socially and economically by the pandemic. The educational system bore the brunt of the outbreak on a larger scale. Emergency online education was adopted worldwide due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Previous research regarding online learning generally focused on the perception of parents, teachers and students in primary education, while younger learners’ perspectives have rarely been examined and questioned. This study focuses on how family, school, and individual factors would be associated with elementary school students’ satisfaction, perceived effectiveness, and preference for online learning during COVID-19. The traditional face to face-to-face classroom teaching learning shifted to the online mode. During this pandemic, the online mode of teaching-learning had a great impact on students at various levels across the globe. The main objective of this study is to analyse the impact of online classes among school students in a provincial town in West Bengal and to analyse the effectiveness of online - learning.
