The primary purpose of this study is to provide a literature review of key components, practises, and results in sustainable supply chain management (SSCM), and the secondary purpose is to develop a comprehensive, testable model of SSCM in the food industry. The inquiry is grounded in both a literature review and a case study. This literature review establishes a theoretical framework linking the pillars, processes, and results of SSCM. In order to investigate these three SSCM ideas, we use two sustainability pioneers in the Greek food supply chain as case study participants. New and exciting SSCM practises, such as daily conversation, local sourcing, and HR investments, are being implemented in the Greek food industry. In order to better understand SSCM in the food industry, the results of this study offer a testable model.
