Title

SMART SCHOOL ATTENDANCE USING NODE MCU AND FINGERPRINT SENSOR

Abstract

The combinations of Electrical Engineering(EE) and Information Technology(IT) is played a significant roles in developing several aspects in academic and professional sectors such as students or employees monitoring. It is a critical subject to track and to manage employees attendance in work places to attend on time to increase efficiency of work. The attendance system can be useful to reduce administrative complexity and cost The system works by connecting the fingerprint sensor to the NodeMCU microcontroller, which is connected to the school's Wi-Fi network. Students would register their fingerprints in the system, which would store their details in a database. When a student arrives at school, they would place their finger on the sensor, which would scan their fingerprint and send the data to the NodeMCU. The NodeMCU would then compare the fingerprint data with the stored database and mark the student as present. At such times we need an online solution. We have used NodeMCU for this purposes. Overall, the proposed abstract smart school attendance system using NodeMCU and fingerprint sensor has the potential to transform the attendance process in schools and improve the overall efficiency of the school system.
