Title

The Quest for New Thermoluminescence Materials: Needs,Strategis and Pitfalls

Abstract

Thermoluminescence (TL) is a well-established technique for radiation dosimetry, environmental monitoring, and medical imaging. However, the existing TL materials have several limitations, such as low sensitivity, poor linearity, and fading effects. Therefore, there is a need for new TL materials with improved properties and functionalities. In this research, we have synthesized and characterized new TL materials using a sol-gel method and evaluated their luminescence and dosimetric properties. The materials were irradiated with gamma rays and analyzed using TL and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. The results show that the synthesized materials have excellent sensitivity, linearity, and reproducibility, and their luminescence efficiency is comparable to or better than that of existing materials. Moreover, the materials exhibit minimal fading effects, making them suitable for long-term dosimetry applications. The synthesis strategy used in this research is simple, cost-effective, and scalable, making it a promising approach for large-scale production of TL materials. Overall, the synthesized materials have great potential for various applications in radiation dosimetry, environmental monitoring, and medical imaging, and could contribute to the development of safer and more accurate radiation detection and monitoring systems.
