Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease is a condition that occurs when the refluxed stomach contents lead to troublesome symptoms and/or complications. Most of patients with chronic gastro-esophageal reflux disease develop Erosive Esophagitis (EE). Healing of EE, resolution of symptoms and prevention of complications are the treatment goals. The management of GERD is done by gastric acid suppressive therapy with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Here, Pantoprazole and Esomeprazole are used since it provides better efficacy than other PPIs.
