Mankind has been confronted with a major worldwide disease outbreak named COVID-19 of a scale not seen in the previous century. A nationwide lockdown declared by the different countries government to sever the spread of infection caused by this virus raised doubt about its origin and sparked a nationwide rush to purchase necessities. In this, the problems raised due to pandemic affects industries at large and other sectors depending upon it. The pandemic dislocates the growth of the economy by affecting the economic factors, with this the labor suffers from unemployment and poverty. People became bankrupt and now the situation is still yelling around more worse than before. Thus, by the way of this article, we would attempt to discuss the consequences and threats presented to the maritime industry by this global outbreak of covid-19. This pervasive pandemic has wreaked havoc on the transportation and marine industries, on all the ports worldwide. Although the COVID-19 outbreak's long-term effects are yet to be known, all signs point to major imminent difficulties for the industry.
