We constantly encounter poverty in our daily lives. They can be villagers' landless labourers, city dwellers living in cramped Jhuggis, daily wage employees, or children working in Dhabas. In India, every fourth person is poor, according to statistics. Lack of sufficient income is only one aspect of poverty. A social phenomenon occurs when a portion of a community is unable to meet even its most basic needs. The amount of poverty in the globe has not diminished to the desired degree, despite thousands of analyses and hundreds of projects. In spite of its progress in many areas of operation, India still has this problem. India is in the lowest ebb of the Medium Human Development, ranking 136th out of 186 nations according to the Human Development Index, which has an index of 0.554. Poverty develops into a vicious cycle that eventually traps the entire family. Death eventually results from extreme poverty. In India, poverty is defined taking into account all aspects of the economy, the semi-economy, and the criteria created in accordance with international norms. India measures poverty based on both consumption and income.
