This paper proposes a modification of the existing concept of a vending machine for distributing over the counter medicines which would enable better social distancing in case of a pandemic/epidemic. This machine is equipped with some basic and emergency medication which does not require a prescription and can be refilled. The user can choose a medicine, pay the necessary amount, and then collect the medicine. Raspberry Pi, a controller that can handle still images, is used to authenticate and identify the currency using an image processing unit. After selecting the required medicine, the user must enter the appropriate amount. The vending machine will deliver the medicine if the correct amount is inserted. This machine is helpful in remote areas where there are no medical stores.
