Nowadays due to this modernization, people are becoming more physical inactive that leads to sedentary life. The men has ignored the ways of healthy life mentioned in Ayurveda there by exposed to various life style related disorders, Obesity (Sthaulya) is one of them. The pendulous movement of the abdomen, buttocks, and breasts that results from excessive Meda and Mamsa Dhatu is a feature of obesity that is comparable to Sthoulya. This improperly formed Medodhatu causes altered configuration and Utsahahani in the individual; such person is called Atisthula. In this paper Kovidar plant is selected for the review of the effect of Kovidar on Sthoulya. Kovidar having properties of Kasaya Ras, Katu Vipaka and it possess Anti-diabetic, , Antimicrobial, Anti-Depressant, Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant, Anti-Ulcer,, Anti-Obesity , Hepatoprotective activity.
