Biomedical waste (BMW) is any waste produced during the diagnosis, treatment or immunization of human or animal research activities pertaining thereto or in the production or testing of biological or in health camps.1 Teaching institutes play a critical role in the health care setup as it is from these places that the future health care professionals and all those persons involved in the caregiving to the community are trained. The study aimed to assess the knowledge regarding biomedical waste management among the students. 2. To determine the association between knowledge and selected demographic variables. The study was carried out using a descriptive approach. 46 samples were identified using convenient, non-probability technique. Data collection was done after obtaining written consent from the samples. Data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The present study shows that 39 (85%) samples had moderate knowledge and has established a relation with two of the selected demographic variables and that is age and residence. Conclusion: Overall, the knowledge towards biomedical waste management among the study respondents was satisfactory.
