India's economy is heavily dependent on agriculture, and size grading is essential for accurate pricing and value addition of agricultural products. The majority of size grading is now carried out manually, which is inefficient, time-consuming, and prone to error. Consequently, time- and error-saving automated grading methods are required. The uniformity of size and shape of agricultural goods is crucial for aesthetic reasons in addition to increasing the processing attributes of those products. Additionally, research is being done to create machines that can grade a variety of fruits with minor alterations. These devices should be simple for anybody to use, including farmers who are illiterate or untrained in technology. It is evident from the literature review that numerous researchers worked on the Onion grading machine. However, the machine is expensive. Therefore, there is a lot of room to build a low-cost, high-productivity onion grading machine in this field.
