Title

IoT based solution to agricultural crops using ESP32

Abstract

The demand for food across the globe has pushed the agricultural domain to implement technology in order to increase the productivity. The development of IoT based solution for agricultural fields will ease the farm access to farmers and establishes the remote connectivity. The goal of this study is to develop agricultural technology to increase production, soil qualities, weather conditions, moisture, temperature, and so forth must be adequately monitored. IoT enabled crop monitoring allows farmers to stay connected to their fields from anywhere and at any time. Various sensors are used to monitor and collect information about the field conditions. Collectively the farm condition is sent to the farmer through Wi-Fi and BLE Mesh technology. The proposed system consists of master-slave model, where slave collects all sensors data and send it master through BLE and master upload the same to ThingSpeak cloud over Wi-Fi. pH value, temperature, soil moisture content are the basic parameters which help in characterizing the soil. In this work, a pH-4502c pH meter is used for pH measurement. For soil moisture content estimation, soil moisture sensor FC-28 is being utilized. The determination of environmental temperature and humidity is done using the DHT22 sensor. Thus, introduction of IoT along with sensor network in agriculture refurbish the traditional way of farming.
