An efficient approach for data storage and retrieval using NoSQL and NodeJS is used for building an Enterprise Resource Planning System is discussed in this work. GENESIS is an acronym for GSSS ENthusiastic and Excellent Student Information System which is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software package developed for automating the day to day activities of an Engineering Institution. This ERP contains different modules like for updating information like Massively Open Online Courses (MOOC), Participation, faculty developed Course materials, details of Activity Points participated as per curriculum standards, updating Project work, Internship and Seminar Reports by the students. The Result Analysis module helps in updating and analyzing the students records related to Results of the affiliating University. The success of any organization depends on its ability to acquire accurate and timely data for day to day operations and generation of reports as per requirements at different management levels thus improving the performance of the system. An ERP system is created with different functional modules for viewing or downloading Project Reports, Activity Points Reports, Internship, Seminar Reports, Students Achievements, details of Events Organized, Project Mapping to Programme Outcomes (POs) and Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) related to Outcome Based Education (OBE), In this work we mainly focus on the efficient approach for data storage and retrieval using NoSQL and NodeJS for building the ERP.
