Title

'High-Strength Concrete Mix Design' Using Various Admixtures and Evaluation of Properties

Abstract

This paper presents the result of mix design developed for high strength concrete using super plasticizer (fosroc Auramix 400). It involves the process of determining experimentally the most suitable concrete mixes in order to achieve the targeted mean strength. In this research work 53 grade Ordinary Portland Cement, Fly Ash class F, Sand 2.36mm & 1.8mm sieve passed, 10 and 20 mm graded coarse aggregate , marble dust used in sample I and in sample II with added superplasticizer Fosroc Auramix 400 for determining the relative quantities and proportions for the grade of concrete M50. For this design ACI 211.4R-93 guidelines were followed. Totally two mixes were designed in that one mix was regular mix design, second mix was designed with super plasticizer 2.5 percent weight of cementitious materials. Each mix 9 numbers of 150mm x 150 mm cubes were casted then kept in curing tank after 24 hours of time period. After 3, 7 & 28 days of curing the specimens were tested and the appropriate mix proportions were obtained.
