Personality is the sum totality of an individual. A person with an absorption disposition or personality feature spends their time thinking about fantasy or other things. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between personality and absorption. The data was collected from individuals who were aged between 17-20 years. The total sample was drawn from schools and consisted of 300 participants out of which 150 were males and 150 were females. The present study was based on a quantitative correlation research design. Standardized tools like Cattell’s 16 PF and The Tellegen Absorption Scale, or TAS, a 34-item questionnaire were used. The research proved the positive association between absorption and openness to change was found to be positive. (r= .062). As hypothesized, the association between absorption and dominance was found to be strong and negative (r= -.090). Personality has an impact on many aspects of life, including physical health, general job performance, political beliefs, social attitudes, and the delicate balance of interpersonal relationships. Variables of positive psychology like optimism, well-being, and flow can be further studied in relation to absorption.
