Title

SECURE MESSAGE TRANSFER USING HYBRID CRYPTOGRAPHIC MECHANISM

Abstract

In today’s world we mainly transmit information through the internet but there is a constant worry inside our mind whether the information we are sharing is getting securely transmitted, is there a chance of possible alteration, maybe a data leak [1]. Security refers to protecting what is our own and also what is of importance to us. Data security refers to protecting our data which is to be kept private from hackers getting unauthorized access to our important and private information which if leaked could lead to serious damages be it identity theft, financial fraud and many more serious consequences. Cryptography plays a vital role in today’s fast paced world where millions and millions of data is being transmitted every millisecond, complying with confidentiality, integrity, authentication as well as non-repudiation [2]. Even Claude E. Shannon, the father of cryptography, wouldn't have thought about the huge impact it plays on our daily lives, like a boon to mankind [3]. The objective of this paper is to provide an insight into the world of cryptography, encryption and decryption along with major cryptographic algorithms along with a hybrid cryptographic algorithm concept for that extra layer of added security.
